About Me

I’m Joel Mailo.

Born in New Zealand, to Samoan and Vietnamese parents, I grew up in Sydney, and call Australia home.

My goal is to provide beautiful, candid and lasting imagery. Something that will evoke happy memories, even many years down the track. I photograph weddings for its spontaneity, and because it's a joy to see the love of a two people on display, amongst their closest family and friends.

I’m based in Sydney though happy to travel across Australia for any event.

When I’m not shooting, I’m working for the awesome Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC). Any other spare time I have is devoted to my wonderful little daughter, Ava.
