Hard to believe now but when this year began, I only had 2 weddings penned in on my calendar. At year end, as I pen this final post for 2016, I’ve had the privilege of attending 18 incredible and unique weddings. A big, big thank you, to the 18 wonderful couples, who welcomed me into their lives, made me their best friend for a day and trusted me with their memories.
This was 2016, the year in weddings.
It all began in February, when Jo & Tommy got hitched in Wentworth Falls. How could I say no when my cousin asked me to photograph his wedding?
In March, Katie & Shaun rocked on a beautiful day at Murrays Beach (just south of Newcastle). Fun loving Tamara & Michael’s Hobart wedding followed at Cascade Brewery.
There was a brief lull until late April, when Sophie & Alex held a snap wedding at Glebe. I had my first visit to Stonecutters Ridge in May, where Mel & Ben waltzed under moonlight on the fairway.
Shen & Brian decided to fly in from Singapore to tie the knot on the harbour. Lauren & Mohammed spent the afternoon at Olympic Park before getting hitched at Le Montage.
We played with lens flare during the golden hour for Tamara & Francois’s registry wedding. There was the drive up to Scone, for Brenda & Casey’s memorable and breath taking day.
At Wolfies, Greg & Peter held a touching ceremony to celebrate their love. A day at Floriade in Canberra, saw Peter & Chloe tie the knot.
Then of course, there was this little wedding in Kingscliff.
Overlooking the city skyline from the north west, Addy & Matt had their day at Greenwich Sailing Club. While overlooking the city skyline from the north east, was Susannah & Andrej’s wedding at Athol Hall.
Marianna & Hugh held a quintessential Newcastle wedding at King Edward Park. As a prelude to their Argentinian wedding, Emi & Nico partied at Chinaman’s Beach in Mosman.
There was a Stonecutters Redux with Natalie & Josh and, Yen & Isaac ended the year with a stroll through Chippendale and Centennial Park.
To all my special bride and grooms from 2016.
